Denver Highways

Connection to Denver was, and remains, important to the prosperity of Colorado Springs. While the Denver & Rio Grande railroad was the first and most important connection route, highways developed for horse and automobile travel.   This animation shows some of the changes that occurred in the roads leading north from Colorado Springs.
